  • What is Pilates?

Classical Pilates is a method of exercise and movement designed to stretch, strengthen and balance the body through a series of exercises using resistance apparatus coupled with focused breathing. This method enhances overall flexibility through the neck, shoulders and joints, improves posture, joint health and bone density and refreshes the mind through concentration and deep breathing.

  • What makes Pilates so special?

Pilates is the safest and most efficient exercise method suitable for all fitness levels as well as for rehabilitation.

It is creating good balance in your body and mind, enabling you to release stress and feeling re-energized while enhancing your body with most effectiveness.

Slim silhouette, flat stomach, feeling good, better awareness of one’s body – this all gives you Pilates.

Pilates CoreFit

In Pilates CoreFit, the main resistance is the weight of your body, emphazising on the torso muscles, core strength, flexibility and controlled movement.

CoreFit classes are designed to learn the basic Pilates vocabulary and positions, improve your posture and core control. Sequences of floor exercises performed while sitting, standing, lying or on all fours help you develop control of your abdominal, pelvic and spinal musculature through muscle contractions and breathing. Pilates CoreFit exercises emphasize precise alignment and efficient sequencing of movement. Instructors may integrate some props such as roller, magic circle, medecine balls and Thera bands for more fun or challenge.

Pilates Reformer

The Reformer is the most popular and versatile piece of Pilates equipment. It has a carriage that glides on rails, with attached springs, pulleys, and ropes. Springs and body weight provide resistance as users sit, kneel, stand, or lie on the carriage, using arms or legs to push and pull. The Reformer assists you in performing safe and controlled movements with no gravity.

This is ideal to focus very precise on individual muscle groups. It is used to help in rehabilitation and in progressing quickly.

Reformer classes are designed with an all over body workout in mind, allowing different levels of an exercise to accommodate all strengths and weaknesses. Participants learn how merging the elements of core control, correct breathing and proper alignment can give a holistic fitness workout, allowing smooth continuous movements to be achieved and leaving them energized.
